In 1986 Ferenc Mate' published the second volume of "The Worlds Best Sailboats". One of the selected boats is the Sam L. Morse, Bristol Channel Cutter (aka "BCC") designed by Lyle Hess. Here is the opening of what Ferenc Mate' had to say: "Some boats look elegant and lean, like the lady of your dreams, and some boat just look fast and mean, then there are boats that look like true friends, and Sam Morse's little cutters seem like the best friends you can find."

Accommodations
The interior has accommodations for 3 adults. There is one quarter berth aft The galley is also aft across from the quarter berth. Mid-cabin there is a full size settee to starboard. Across on the portside there is a short settee. and the diesel heater and outboard there is a full length pilot-berth. All the way forwards is an enclosed head with vanity and sink.
Storage has been maximized throughout the interior. Because of the short overhangs bow and stern and a relativly wide beam for a boat of this age, the interior volume is comparable to many boats that are in the 32' to 34' size of the same age.

Rod has been a yacht broker in Annapolis for over 40 years and has witnessed many changes over the years. An avid sailor since childhood, he has cruised and raced extensively on the Chesapeake and offshore. His diligence, as well as his business and boating experience, inspire the trust of his many loyal clients who often refer their friends and family members to him.
Many “industry insiders†have chosen Rod as their Yacht Broker, for their own yacht purchase or sale. Active for many years with YBAA, the Yacht Brokers Association of America: www.ybaa.org. Originally elected to the YBAA Board of Directors in 2003, he has served in many roles in pursuit of raising the standards of professionalism in the Yacht Brokerage arena.
In 2006 and 2007, as Chair of the Professional Education Committee he was instrumental in producing “The Guide,†the Yacht Brokerage Industry’s first ever training manual for professional practices. Rod has also been involved over the years in other YBAA projects, including many revisions of YBAA’s standard purchase and listing forms, which are widely used throughout the Yacht Brokerage industry.
Because of his expertise and experience, Rod is often sought out for his counsel by leaders in “allied industries†regarding policy issues, as well as by fellow brokers throughout North America when they encounter problems with their transactions. Rod has two grown “children,†both of whom have worked with him in the industry in the past before moving on to other careers. They still occasionally find time to sail with their dad. He also enjoys hiking, mountaineering, and dancing.
Rod holds a BA from Johns Hopkins and an MBA with honors from George Mason University.
